My Story
Hearing the swirling sounds of my grandma's mixer on a Saturday morning and soaking in the aroma of something sweet from her oven was my idea of an exciting weekend. No special occasion was ever needed to create sweets in her house; she would bring neighbors and complete strangers her treats on perfectly random days. As a little girl, my role progressed from "baking assistant" with tasks such as adding the eggs, licking the spoon to certified taste tester! Those special moments although distant now, were some of the fondest memories to awaken my love of baking.
Over the years, I started baking for a local school, shared my treats with first graders as a teacher's assistant and experimented with various recipes as I continuously perfected my craft and fueled my passion. In my growing years, I would find any excuse to bake and give gifts of baked goods – even if that someone was myself! As a parent with my first daughter, Shania, I rose to new heights and became adamant about creating the "perfect" treat tables with homemade, custom treats for her birthday celebrations. 2010 was the year of transformation for me when I decided to turn passion into opportunity with the launch of Sugar and Spice Treat Boutique!
